Preconception & Fertility Doula Support
Are you planning on growing your family in the near future, or currently trying to conceive?
It is common for a fertility journey to be anywhere from six months to a year before pregnancy is achieved; unfortunately, most medical care-providers do often investigate an Individual/couple’s fertility until reaching that one-year mark, and that can feel like a hopelessly long time to wait. Furthermore, “trying” can include all kinds of bumps in the metaphorical road, such as physical events like chemical pregnancies, pregnancy-like symptoms during the “two week wait” (luteal phase post-ovulation), and early miscarriages; and so many possible emotional events, such as the excitement and hopefulness of a missed period that arrives the day after a disappointing negative pregnancy test, the advice of well-meaning friends or family members (or even the cashier who scans your ovulation predictor kits through their till), or worries about if there might be a reason as to why pregnancy isn’t happening as quickly as imagined at the start of a journey.
A fertility/infertility journey can be a long and lonely path to walk, with so many questions.
As a Holistic Reproductive Practitioner, Fertility Doula support is a heartfelt passion in my overall holistic practice.
I am here to support you emotionally, provide guidance with Fertility Awareness Method (FAM), and assist you with gathering information on your journey so that you can become more in tune with your body/cycle, seek both physical and emotional wellness, and feel confident in making informed decisions about your reproductive health.
Reiki and Reflexology are two hands-on services that I have found beneficial in achieving reproductive wellness.
And once conception occurs...?
I am here on your journey for as long as you wish, and I will support you however you need me. If you wish to hire me on as your Doula for your pregnancy and birth we can discuss which Birth Doula package you’d like, and we will continue on together. Should you encounter pregnancy loss I am still here to support you as your Holistic Reproductive Practitioner with resources, informational and emotional support. You are always welcome to resume your fertility journey with me when you’re ready—I promise to always meet you wherever you’re at.
Do you have a diagnosed or suspected reproductive health condition?
Maybe you’ve been diagnosed with endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, or male-factor infertility. Maybe you simply have irregular menstrual cycles and/or period pain. Diagnosed or suspected reproductive health conditions can often make the TTC process more challenging, for sure!
Reiki and Reflexology sessions are two holistic health modalities that can considerably lessen the symptoms of health conditions, or the side-effects of the various medications an individual may be prescribed during fertility treatments. I highly encourage couples trying to conceive to book bi-weekly or monthly sessions of either reiki or reflexology; oftentimes rotating between the two is most effective, as Reiki is a form of energy-healing and Reflexology a physical sequence of acupressure techniques.
Fertility Doula Support Packages
With the onset of COVID-19 in March 2020, I am able to offer virtual fertility support via phone/text, email and Zoom meetings, for those not wishing in-person contact at this time. As we have seen positive statistics of “flattening the curve” I have begun to offer the option of in-person support, including resuming my Reiki and Reflexology offerings. Please let me know which would be most comfortable to you, virtual or in-person (or a combination of both).

Offering Reproductive Wellness in Community with Other Practitioners
It is a privilege & an honour to serve families in the Cowichan Valley (including: Mill Bay, Cowichan Bay, Shawnigan Lake, Cobblehill, Lake Cowichan , Duncan, Maple Bay, Crofton, Chemainus, and Ladysmith) and Nanaimo. I am familiar with both the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Cowichan District Hospital, and grateful for my professional relationships with the Old City Midwives, Matraea Midwives, and Cowichan Midwifery Collective; and all the nurses, doctors, OBGYNs and paediatricians.
My professional relationships with various Doulas throughout the mid-island are deeply meaningful to me, and I truly believe that working as a community means that together we are able to support the families we serve to the best of our collective abilities.
Over the course of 2020 Samara Ferguson of WyldFern Doula Care and I have begun to work in partnership with each other to serve our Cowichan Valley clients. She is a full-spectrum Doula who specializes in Postpartum, but is experienced as a Birth Doula and a Loss & Bereavement Doula also. She has her Level 1 in Reiki, and she is hoping to facilitate a group in the Cowichan Valley for Pregnancy Loss in the near future (details pending).
When we team up and work together, we call our partnership “WyldRose.”
